Spelt is an ancient member of the wheat family. Many people find spelt easier to digest than regular wheat, and find that they are less prone to bloating after eating spelt. Wholegrain spelt is higher in iron and fibre than regular spelt.
Spelt flakes are typically used as a breakfast cereal. You can also use them to make delicious home-made honey clusters: mix in a bowl with a small spoonful of honey, then toast under the grill.
