Cacao Liquor contains both cacao butter and cacao solids. The organically grown Peruvian Cacao beans are first fermented to reduce their bitterness. They are then broken down into nibs, which are then ground down to produce a paste. The paste is then melted down and shaped into these enticing disks, approximately 3cm in diameter. This makes them ideal for melting down quickly.
These smooth, dark buttons have a rich aroma of chocolate, reminiscent of drinking chocolate. As they have been produced at a low temperature they retain much of their nutritional value.
Cacao Liquor has a concentrated chocolate flavour. For certain recipes we recommend adding a little more Cacao Butter or Butter Buttons to the mix to bring down the soften the flavour.
