Sun-dried Tomatoes - a cupboard essential!
There is nothing quite like the flavour of sun-dried tomatoes finely chopped into pasta sauce or as an accompaniment to cheese, such as in a
quiche or flan.
This bumper-sized pack means you'll never be short of some full-on tomato flavour. These tomatoes are chopped in half, salted and dried in the sun.
To prepare: We recommend pre-soaking in warm/tepid water to soften them ready for the pan or salad bowl. You can rinse them before use if you wish to reduce the amount of saltiness, then just chop (or use whole) and add to your recipe.
- Sun-dried, tomato halves.
- Ad hoc flavouring for sauces, risotto and pizzas.
- Blend the soaked tomato halves with pine nuts and parmesan/pecorino for a red pesto.
