Whole Bay Leaves

Harvested from the bay laurel tree, bay leaves are a fragrant herb used in cooking and can also be used in herbal remedies. The leaves have a flowery and aromatic smell similar to thyme and oregano. Bay leaves are also high in vitamin A, vitamin C, iron, potassium, calcium and magnesium.

  • Bay leaves are often used in Indian, Greek, French, European and Caribbean cuisine. The leaves are often added to slow-cooked dishes such as soups, sauces and stews.
  • It is thought that bay leaves may help lower blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes.
  • Bay leaves contain enzymes that may help break down proteins and digest food more quickly, helping to calm indigestion.
