This white quinoa grain is grown in the northern part of Shropshire, along the border of England and Wales. This particular variety of quinoa has been naturally selected to grow well in our UK climate. The result is a bountiful harvest, which increases year on year.
The big leaves of the quinoa plant provide an alternative habitat for wildlife. In addition to this, growing quinoa alongside traditional fields of wheat and oats, helps to support the surrounding environment as a whole.
Cooked quinoa provides a source of essential amino acids and fibre. Once cooked, quinoa can be eaten hot or cold in a variety of recipes. It makes a healthy alternative to white pasta and has a similar texture to couscous, just a touch firmer.
