Roasting hazelnuts really brings out their full flavour and this makes them a versatile nut to keep in the kitchen cupboard. They can be used whole in your breakfast bowl as well as in home-made chocolate. (See our Cocoa & Carob page for ingredients to make your own chocolate)
Alternatively, roughly split the hazelnuts into small pieces and use as a garnish for desserts. These hazelnuts can also be blended further in a coffee grinder to produce a finer texture that can be used instead of ground almonds in cakes and pastries.
