Long peppers come from Indonesia and have a much more complex flavour palette compared to your commonly used peppercorns. However, you can use these in the same ways that you would with traditional peppercorns - add them into cooking for varied times (depending on how sharp you want the flavour to be) or grind these into a powder and sprinkle into, and on top of, dishes to your liking.
Long peppers are great in spicy cuisine, such as curries, but also fantastic in sweeter recipes and baking, making this ingredient very versatile with it's flavour. They can also be used in stews, soups, and even in spiced hot beverages around festive seasons.
Long pepper (Piper Longum).
