A tamarind is a fruit with a shell, peel and seeds. It is tricky to prepare so this paste is a convenient way to spoon the flavour into your dish. It has an unusual flavour; a sweetness yet with a strong overtaking of what can only be described as bitter
lemon.
How to use Tamarind
Tamarind is a common ingredient in Asian cooking. It can be added to many sauces such as
sweet & sour sauce, curries, salad dressings, and dips such as
barbeque sauce or
sweet chilli. This light Tamarind paste is quite runny and lighter in flavour compared to the thicker, darker
TRS Tamarind Paste. It is more diluted which makes it ideal for making drinks like
smoothies and cocktails.
The suggested serving size is 30g. However, you may adapt that measurement to suit your taste.
Screw-top plastic tub; refrigerate after opening.
