Sunflower seed sprouts are like little packets of goodness, containing important mineral salts, vitamins and amino acids. They are gentle on the digestion and have a low calorie count. To retain the nutritional values of sunflower sprouts, eat them raw.
How To Sprout
For best results, use in a germinator or a seed tray with capillary matting or soil.
Soak the seeds overnight. Put them in their germinator, ensure there is sufficient space left between the seeds, and set away from direct sunlight. Wash twice a day, until sprouts start to emerge. Once the first two leaves have greened up (usually between 7 and 10 days), they sprouts are ready to harvest. Make sure they are watered regularly but do not over water.
