Fenugreek seeds (Trigonella foenum-graecum) are a warming, aromatic spice with a savoury, slightly bitter flavour reminiscent of curry. They are used frequently in Indian and South Asian cuisine and can be added whole or ground to curries, spice blends and chutneys. The seeds can also be sprouted to produce small micro-leaves. Suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
100g pack.
Directions
Fenugreek is used in curries, adding a strong aromatic flavour. Bash the seeds into a powder using a mortar and pestle, or use a blender or spice grinder. Add to the pan at an early stage (usually with the onions).
You can also sprout these seeds using a germinator or jar, and eat the sprouts and micro-leaves in a salad or cook them into Indian breads.
If taken as a supplement, a small handful of seeds (around a quarter-teaspoon) taken daily with water will suffice for most purposes.
