Miso paste is used to make miso soup, and is also used as a general seasoning in Japanese cooking. There are several types: barley miso, sweet white miso (pictured), hatcho (black) miso and brown rice miso, to name but a few. Miso paste comes in re-sealable packs and can be refrigerated.
