How To Recycle Sussex Wholefoods Packaging

Unsure of how to recycle our packaging?

Our film, packets, bags and labels are all made out of the same material recyclable LDPE, meaning you don't have to remove the labels before you recycle the empty packets. We faced lots of decisions when choosing what to make our packets out of, and one of the things that we wanted to factor in was the ability for our new packaging to be able to protect the food products inside and not shorten the shelf life. LDPE was the option that can be recycled whilst maintaining the longest shelf life for the product inside.

To recycle your Sussex Wholefoods packaging, rinse out the packet. Then visit your nearest carrier bag recycling point. This is sometimes in bigger supermarkets or local recycling centres and tips. If you are unsure of where your nearest point is, use the link below! Some local councils allow you to recycle LDPE bags in your household recycling. Be sure to check on your local authorities website for more information.

Chilled Packaging

We operate a 'return and reuse' policy with the packaging used to send out your chilled orders. This includes the silver envelopes and freezer packs. This is not recyclable in the traditional sense. But we can clean and reuse once you have finished with it. Please ensure you retain your chilled gel packs and chilled envelopes. Once you've made 8 chilled orders, please contact us and we'll send you a free returns label to send it back to us. The packaging will be disinfected and reused to minimise the environmental impact.

Cardboard boxes, paper tape and paper void filler

The packaging that we send out orders out in can all be recycled in your local household recycling. Simply flatpack and pop into your recycling bin.
