About the cardholder address
In common with most companies, we allow you to deliver to a separate address, but also require your address, i.e. the address to where your credit card statements are sent. This is used as a security check by your bank to prevent your card from unauthorised use.
During the checkout process, you will first be asked for your home/cardholder address, then on the next page, an optional separate delivery address. Click here to visit the checkout.
We do not store credit card details (we use Sagepay instead)
We never store credit card details. Instead, payments are taken entirely by our payment provider, SagePay. During the checkout process, you will be transferred to the SagePay site where you enter your card details. These details are stored securely by SagePay.
This is the most secure way of processing credit card transactions, as it means that your credit card details are taken directly by the payment provider, and never seen or stored by the merchant.
Online retailers that take your credit card details on their screens have to store and process the credit card details themselves, before passing it to the credit card company, who then have to store and process the credit card details again. This means that there is more chance of something going wrong, because the information is stored and processed twice (once by the retailer, and once by the credit card company).
Instead of this, Healthy Supplies take the "separate credit card details screen" approach, which transfers you directly to the credit card company's website where you type your credit card details directly onto their screen. It's more secure this way.
We have chosen to use SagePay as our payment provider, having evaluated a number of payment providers. SagePay is owned by Sage, the UK's most well-known supplier of accounting solutions.
We hope that you will accept that even though the "separate credit card screen" approach that we use is slightly less slick than taking the credit card details on our screen, it is the more secure method.
We cannot charge your card twice
Your card details are stored securely by the SagePay system, and can be used only once.
3D-Secure (Mastercard SecureCode and Verified By Visa
Nowadays, almost all credit cards must be protected by the 3D-Secure system. After entering your credit card details, your credit card provider (Mastercard/Maestro or Visa) will transfer you to a screen where you will be asked to verify further details. This usually takes the form of a further password.
3D-Secure is becoming more commonplace nowadays, and though it seems like a nuisance, it does help to protect your credit card from unauthorised use. |
