Brown rice is wholegrain, unpolished rice. It has a higher fibre and mineral content than white rice, and is thus more nutritious. It has a rougher texture than white rice, which actually enhances the taste and makes it "grip" sauces more effectively. Cook brown rice for 5 minutes longer than white rice for a lovely soft consistency.  | |
