Beetroot is a deep pinky red coloured root vegetable which is naturally very sweet. It is very good for your immune system and your blood as it contains high levels of magnesium, Iron and antioxidants like Beta-carotene. Beetroot contains virtually no fat or calories.
Beetroot can be dried, boiled, pickled and juiced. It is also a natural dye. You could have fun and tint your food (eg: rice, potatoes or cheese) pink for parties or to encourage children to try new foods.
