There are two varieties of flax seed: golden flaxseed, and brown flaxseed. These are similar nutritionally, but have a different flavour. Brown flaxseed has a rich flavour, whereas golden flaxseed is a little lighter. Both varieties have a nutty flavour that works well as a sprinkling (e.g. on cereals, toast or muesli). A handful of flax seeds per day provides an excellent source of omega-3, dietary fibre and antioxidants.
Note that flax seeds, flaxseed and linseed are all the same thing!
