Hazelnuts come from Hazel trees and shrubs. Hazelnuts are typically harvested around the mediterranean, and can be purchased from Healthy Supplies in either roasted or unroasted form. Hazelnuts can be eaten on their own as a snack, though are also used in many sweet dishes and sweets. They are ground into a paste in order to make praline, which is used as a filling in many popular chocolates.
