Dried Fruit & Fruit Products 

At Healthy Supplies, we encourage snacking on fruit at regular intervals. We believe that it's good to eat as diverse a range of fruits as possible throughout the day, in order to vary your nutritional intake. Fruit provides fibre, energy and minerals. Some fruits such as blueberries and goji berries contain antioxidants and freeze dried fruit (such as strawberries) still retain much of their vitamin c.

For convenience, you may like to try our specially selected fruit bars, for on the go snacking.


Apples

Dried Apple Rings make quite a moreish snack, and you can also chop them up and add them to muesli. We also supply preservative-free dried apples.

Apricots

Most manufacturers of dried apricots add sulphur dioxide to them to keep them looking orange. Though this has not been proven to be harmful, it's totally unnecessary, so we sell unsulphured apricots instead of the bright orange ones. Of particular note are the Crazy Jack Apricots, which are very tasty.

Aronia Berries

The Aronia Berry is a sharp tasting fruit originally from North America. It is quite tart in flavour and would balance out a sweet breakfast cereal, go with yoghurt & honey or stew well with red meats and spices.

Bananas

If you think of dried bananas, you might be forgiven for thinking that they are hard chips of banana that break your teeth. Most people also don't realise that those chips usually contain sugar. However, we recommend the exciting Bogoya Banana Strips and Chewy Banana Chips, which are 100% banana and much more chewy and banana-like.

Blackberries

Dried blackberries, suitable for snacking or pie-making.

Blackcurrants

Blackcurrants have a natural tartness that works well in smoothies or pies.

Blueberries

Dried Blueberries often contain added sugar, to stop them from going hard. However, we also offer freeze-dried blueberries that are 100% blueberry.

Cherries

Cherries are rich in anthocyanins, which are a powerful antioxidant and have also been shown to ease inflammation. Of course, they also taste excellent.

Citrus Fruits (Dried & Preserved)

Lemon, lime and grapefruit can add tangy flavour to both sweet and savoury cooking. Take a look at the preserved lemons, lime powder and grapefruit marmalade.

Coconut

Coconuts are technically a fruit, though with nut-like characteristics. We supply many coconut-based products including coconut flakes for snacking or muesli, coconut powder and coconut water.

Cranberries

The cranberry is well-known for its beneficial effect on the urinary tract. We stock freeze-dried cranberries that simply taste of cranberry, as well as sweetened cranberries for those who are not used to the sourness.

Dates

Dates are an incredibly popular fruit, particularly around the middle east where they are considered a staple part of the diet. A lot of the fruit bars that we sell contain dates, because they are very good at holding stuff together.

Figs

Our range of figs includes the tasty Crazy Jack Figs, which are softer and made from a variety with thinner skin. Figs are a common health food due to their high fibre content.

Ginger

Sweet, Soft and Mildly Spiced

Ginger is not actually a fruit, but we have included crystallised and preserved stem ginger here because they are sweet and snackish. Sweetened ginger's soft fruity texture and flavour makes it ideal for fruit cakes, ginger bread recipes and other desserts.

Goji Berries

Goji Berries are the source of a lot of media attention, because they are considered to be very good for you. This is due to their high content of a lot of useful nutrients including vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Goji Berries have a high vitamin C content, even when dried.

Grapes

Freeze-dried grapes. 100% pure and healthy.

Mango

Dried mango slices with no preservatives.

Melon

Soft and chewy dried melon pieces that are free from any preservatives. We offer Honey Dew and Watermelon.

Mulberries

Dried black mulberry and white mulberry with no added sweetener and preservatives.

Papaya

Chewy strips of organic papaya with no added sugar or other ingredients.

Pear

Pears are a softer, less acidic and often juicer cousin of the apple. We have several pear products that are 100% pure pear and have no additives or nasty stuff done to it.

Physalis

The physalis, also known as the Cape Gooseberry or the Inca Berry, are round orange fruits, surrounded in a leafy jacket. These berries are slightly sour in flavour.

Pineapple

Pineapple pieces and slices (preservative-free).

Pomegranate

Pomegranate: freeze-dried and in dried, seed form.

Prunes

Prunes are dried plums of particular plum species. Prunes are one of the highest-fibre fruits and are available in pre-soaked form as well as dry form. Preservative-free options available.

Raisins, Sultanas & Currants

Raisins, sultanas and currants are all types of dried grape. Sultanas are a distinctive group, but currants and raisins are rather similar.

Raspberries

These raspberries are freeze-dried, which is a healthy way to preserve fruit.

Strawberries

Dried strawberries are ideal for adding to breakfasts, or as a healthy snack.

Sun-Dried Tomatoes

Tomatoes are, of course, a savoury fruit. They are high in lycopene, which is a very well-known and powerful antioxidant. Sun-dried tomatoes are great for cooking and make an interesting snack.

Mixed Fruit

Fruit Powder

Dried fruit powder. Completely natural and containing no artificial ingredients. Fruit powders can be used in both sweet and savoury cooking. Most of our powders can be used to make milkshakes, jelly, lollies, fruity yoghurt, sauces and desserts.
