Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the muscle, comprising about 60% of the protein in muscle tissue. It is naturally produced within the body, but when a large amount of muscle tissue needs to be repaired, glutamine from the diet becomes essential.
Glutamine is present in high-protein foods such as meat or fish, but supplementation has shown to be helpful in improving recovery times for muscle injury. It's useful to take during or after a workout to help the body to build muscle tissue immediately post-workout. In its powdered form here, it is easily absorbed.
