Organic Sunflower Seeds 1kg (Sussex Wholefoods)
200g sunflower seeds
Organic Ceylon Cinnamon Powder 100g (Sussex Wholefoods)
½ tsp ground cinnamon
Fine Pink Himalayan Salt 500g (Sussex Wholefoods)
pinch of salt
Buckwud Canadian Maple Syrup 250g (Rowse)
2 tbsp maple syrup
Other Ingredients
- 1-2 tbsp warm water (or neutral oil, added as needed).
Method
- Gently roast the sunflower seeds in a dry pan over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring constantly until fragrant and lightly golden.
- Add sunflower seeds to a high-speed blender or food processor. Blend until they break down into a fine meal, then scrape down the sides.
- Keep blending until the oils release and it becomes creamy (this takes 3-5 minutes).
- Add the maple syrup, cinnamon, and optional salt. Pulse to combine.
- If it feels too thick, add a splash of warm water (or oil) 1 teaspoon at a time while blending until you hit your desired smoothness.
- Store in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks!
