Fennel seed is a spice that is typically used in Middle-Eastern, Indian and European cuisine. It has a herb-like flavour similar to a mild aniseed, and can be used to add flavour to roasted foods such as meats or vegetables. Fennel seeds can also be sprinkled into salads.
Directions
Sprinkle over salads.
Add half a teaspoon to your curry mix to flavour meats, potato curries and vegetable curries.
Heat the seeds gently in a pan before grinding to release the full aroma.
Add to herbal teas for a liquorice flavour.
