Clearspring's Hojicha green tea is organically grown in Kyoto, Japan. The green tea leaves are picked later in the harvest (unlike Sencha tea) which means the caffeine count is far smaller than young green tea leaves*.
Once the mature leaves are picked, they are steamed and gently roasted and freshly packed, sealing in the distinctive smoky flavour and aroma. Roasting the tea leaves lessens the tea's astringency. In Japan, Hojicha is the most popular everyday drink.
Directions
Pour freshly boiled water over the tea bag and leave to steep for up to 2 minutes.
