Water Kefir Grains

  • Reusable live culture for water kefir that needs to be activated.
  • 5g Organic water kefir grains.
  • Reconstitutes to 30g fresh water kefir grains to prepare initial 600ml water kefir.
  • The shelf life for our dehydrated water kefir grains is 1 year.
  • We put a best before date on all our water kefir grains packages.
  • All grains come with activation/care instructions and kefir recipe.

These organic reusable grains are the live culture needed to make water kefir. The dehydrated grains are small balls of bacteria and yeast that turn the water into kefir. Before use, reactive the grains according to packet instructions. Once reconstituted, 5g of dried water kefir grains turn to 30g of fresh water kefir grains to prepare 600ml of water kefir.

Directions

  • Dissolve 30g sugar (use ½ of unrefined sugar) in 300ml non-chlorinated water.
  • Add kefir grains.
  • Cover and ferment (20-24°C) for 3-4 days.
  • Strain and repeat the first 3 steps (5-7 times) until there are signs of activity. But ferment for only 2 days.
