Fenugreek is a warming, savoury spice with complicated flavours. The seeds are used frequently in Indian cuisine to add a more interesting taste.
Fenugreek is commonly taken as a supplement for a wide range of purposes. Fenugreek is believed to improve digestion, lower cholesterol levels, and even assist the immune system.
Directions
Fenugreek is used in curries, adding a strong aromatic flavour. Bash the seeds into a powder using a mortar and pestle, or use a blender or spice grinder. Add to the pan at an early stage (usually with the onions).
You can also sprout these seeds using a germinator or jar, and eat the sprouts and micro-leaves in a salad or cook them into Indian breads.
If taken as a supplement, a small handful of seeds (around a quarter-teaspoon) taken daily with water will suffice for most purposes.
