Classic Houmous Recipe


The Classic Tahini-based houmous garnished with Smoked Spanish Paprika

Classic Houmous (with Tahini)

For traditional houmous, this classic recipe combines all the necessary ingredients to make this popular chickpea dip. To make this houmous dip, you will need:

- 2 cloves of garlic
- 125g tahini
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 5 tbsp Sunita Organic Lemon Juice
- 400g chickpeas (cooked & drained)
- Olive oil
- Sea Salt
- Cracked Black Pepper
- A pinch of ground cumin

Directions

1) Put the tahini, garlic, cumin and lemon juice in to a food processor and blitz until you have a pale mixture.

2) Add the chickpeas to the processor (retain some if you want to use them for decoration), add some salt, pepper and a 2 tbsp of cold water and blitz into a smooth paste.

3) Add a drop of olive oil to the mixture if it is too dry and extra lemon juice if you want, for taste.

4) Spoon out into a serving bowl and decorate with extra chickpeas and a sprinkling of ground cumin.
