Delicious Savoury Flapjacks - Can be made gluten-free!

Cheesy Nutty Flapjack Recipe

  Organic Rolled Porridge Oats (2kg) - Sussex WholeFoods
100g Rolled Oats

  100% Wholemeal Plain Flour 1kg, Organic (Doves Farm)
75g Wholemeal Flour

  Organic Walnuts (500g) - Sussex WholeFoods
50g Walnuts chopped fine

  Mixed Herbs, Organic 50g (Sussex Wholefoods)
1/2 teaspoon dried mixed herbs
  • 100g Cheddar Cheese (grated)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 75g Butter
  • 1 Egg Yolk
  • A little milk


  1. Place all the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly, add salt and pepper as per your personal taste.
  2. Melt the butter, allow to cool slightly and add the egg yolk, mix well.
  3. Add to the dry ingredients and mix to make a moist consistency, if still dry add just enough milk to make the mixture moist.
  4. Spread the mixture over the base of a buttered swiss roll tin approx 25 x 20cm
  5. Bake at 190C, 375F or Gas mark 5 for 25 to 35 minutes or until firm and golden.
  6. Cool slightly and cut into fingers. Leave in the tin until fully cold.
  7. Eat and enjoy.
