Homemade Brazil Nut & Cacao Butter

  Organic Brazil Nuts (1kg) - Sussex WholeFoods
2 cups brazil nuts

  Organic Raw Cacao Powder 1kg (Sussex Wholefoods)
2Tbsp cacao powder

  Maple Syrup, Organic 250ml (Meridian)
2Tbsp maple syrup

  Fine Pink Himalayan Salt 1kg (Sussex Wholefoods)
pinch of salt


  1. Toast brazil nuts for around 5 minutes on a medium heat in a dry pan, to release the flavour. Leave to cool.
  2. Place brazil nuts and salt in a food processor or high speed blender. Blend, stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides until you reach desired consistency.
  3. Add maple syrup and cacao and blend until mixed well. Taste and add more cacao and/or maple syrup according to your taste preferences.
  4. Enjoy!

If you're blender is not powerful enough to blend brazil nuts into a smooth paste, you can add some flavourless oil to your mix.
