5/6 tablespoons of olive oil will help to loosen the mixture and make it more workable.

A dash of lemon juice helps to loosen the mixture and also helps to carry the spicy flavours.

Half a teaspoon of garlic powder

Harissa Paste 100g (Al'Fez)

2 teaspoons of Harissa paste.

Organic Cumin Powder 100g (Sussex Wholefoods)

2 teaspoons of cumin powder.

Other Ingredients

    Method

    1. Mash the chickpeas in a bowl.
    2. Add the tahini, oil and lemon juice and blend it all together. You can use a food processor to make this easier.
    3. Add the garlic, harissa, cumin powder, salt and pepper.
    4. Blend thoroughly. Add more lemon juice/oil if you need to make the mixture more workable.
    5. Importantly, leave to stand for an hour or two to allow the flavours to mix together.
    6. Serve with crispbread!
