Blissful Bath Bomb

  • Fizzing bath bombs with 100% natural aromas.
  • Makes around 12 small rose shapes.
  • This aromatherapy combination is designed to clear the mind and senses.

Other Ingredients

  • 3 tsp of cold tap water.
  • 1 tsp of cosmetic body glitter/fine theatrical glitter, optional.

Method

  1. Choose some pretty moulds. Make sure you have thoroughly dried these moulds, then set to one side.
  2. Put on some disposable gloves, as the Citric acid straight from the packet can be harsh on the hands when mixing. Add all the dry ingredients into a mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Make sure you have thoroughly dried the moulds you are using to make the bath bombs. Set to one side.
  4. In a separate bowl add the coconut oil, sweet basil oil and water. Gradually combine into a soft paste. The heat of your hands should blend the ingredients together. The oils and water will not complete mix into each other, of course. This is fine.
  5. Now take small amounts, around a tablespoon at a time, of the wet mix and smoothly work in into the dry ingredients bowl. This is a little like the technique used for making pastry, when you rub the fat into the flour to form breadcrumbs.
  6. Once you have incorporated all the coconut oil in the wet mix, there may be a teaspoon or so of water left. Sprinkle this over and your ‘breadcrumbs’ should be finished.
  7. Keeping your gloves on, take small handfuls of the finished mixture and press it firmly into each of your moulds. Silicone moulds and other types of softish plastic are the best for creating these bath bombs. The firmer you can pack the mixture into the mould the better the finished result!
  8. Place on a tray in a warm place, out of sunlight, an airing cupboard is ideal. Allow to fully dry out, which will normally take 24-32 hours.
  9. Gently remove once dried and then store in an airtight container in a cool dark place until ready to use.
