Supercharged Chai Latte

  • 1Tbsp of loose black tea leaves of your choice. Medium, everyday blend is perfect.

Method

  1. In a milk pan/non-stick saucepan pour the cashew milk and gently begin warming the liquid on the hob.
  2. Stir in the black tea leaves, coconut sugar, guarana powder, cinnamon powder, ground cloves and cardamom powder.
  3. Scrape out some of the vanilla seed from the half-pod and add to the pan.
  4. Lightly crush the star anise seeds and add these to the pan with the whole vanilla pod.
  5. Bring to a slow simmer/gentle bubble. Allow the spices to infuse into the liquid for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Pour the coconut creamer into a mixing bowl or batter jug and using an electric whisk create a foaming froth. Set to one side.
  7. Remove the pan from the heat and pour into mugs or heat proof glasses.
  8. Spoon over the coconut froth and dust with cacao powder and serve.
