Hemp seeds are one of many super-foods. They are highly nutritious, containing protein (edestin) which has all the essential amino acids balanced correctly for the human diet. This is important for the body's defences. Hemp seeds also contain essential fatty acids (omega oils); linoleic, linolenic acid and gamma-linolenic acid which are good for maintaining healthy hair, skin and hormone metabolism. These seeds also contain the antioxidants Vitamin E and Lecithin and other minerals.
Hempseed in the Daily Diet
You can do all sorts of things with hemp seeds. Providing you don't heat them above 180°c, they can be baked, roasted and sprinkled into all sorts of warm dishes and salads. You could also sprinkle them into your breakfast or incorporate them into bread or cake baking. We recommend you try them over honey roast vegetables, or make them part of a stuffing or prehaps shake a few in at the end of a stir fry to add some texture.
