We are not this obsessed!We're not fitness fanatics or health freaks by any means. We're just normal
people who like to stay healthy and look and feel good. But we also believe in having fun!
In particular, we
believe that healthy living shouldn't be about sacrifice.
We believe that variety and moderation
are better than denial, and lead to more achievable long-term results.
For example, it's easy to get bored of a regime that simply avoids sweets
and alcohol. It far better to think in terms of alternative options. So for
example, it's fine to have the occasional chocolate bar, but it's also
good to consider other snack foods such as dried fruit, nuts etc so that
you get used to chocolate being one of a wide range of options. In this way,
you eat less chocolate anyway, without feeling that you have denied yourself
anything. Diets and fitness regimes are more achievable if they are fun and
add something to your life instead of taking things away!
For this reason, we actively encourage snacking as part of a normal thing for humans to do. We think that it's crazy to give up snacks! We're here to supply healthy ones to you.
No politics
Is GM harmful? Nobody knows,
so we keep an open mind.At Healthy Supplies, we select our range primarily on the basis of its nutritional value and its taste. We don't get involved in food-politics, mainly because the politics is complicated and we don't adhere to any particular school of thought.
We do think that things like organic food and seasonal produce have their merits from a nutritional and taste point of view, but the one thing that we have found is that there are good and bad in every type of food. This is why we evaluate each product on its own merits.
In particular, we don't use politics as a selling point, and won't preach to you about matters of personal conscience such as environmentalism and fairtrade - mainly because we don't believe that there are any right or wrong answers to these complex world problems.
We care about your health, and your enjoyment of food. Not your politics.
We won't tell you what to do...
A lot of websites seem to be run by people who like telling people what to do. At Healthy Supplies, however, we treat our customers like grown adults, supplying necessary and relevant information, but stopping short of telling people how to live their lives. We will list products that we ourselves like, and leave the rest up to you!
