Equal Exchange use the Swiss Water ® Process as a means of decaffeination in their coffee. This process is chemical-free and used water from the B.C. Coats Mountains to extract caffeine. This carbon technology captures the caffeine, whilst protecting the coffee's body and flavour characteristic.
Directions
Use one dessertspoon of ground coffee per person. For cafetieres, use fresh water just off the boil. Stir and leave for 3-5 mins. Ensure that you use a coffee grinder to produce a medium/fine grind.
