Healthy Supplies is a new company, launched at the start of 2010. It is run by people who are experienced in online delivery.
Delivery times
All in-stock orders are despatched within 1 working day. We hold good stock of most of the wholefoods (dried fruit, fruit bars, nuts, seeds, seaweed etc), but may have to order in expensive items such as supplements, which can take up to 3 working days. If your order is going to take longer than this, then our standard course of action is to email you and let you know what is happening. You can specify other courses of action during the checkout process - e.g. to split the order, automatically substitute, or opt to wait until all items are in stock - you have complete flexibility!
In addition, we have a very informative order tracking system that keeps you informed at all times of the status of your order. We have a knowledgeable team based in Brighton and are able to respond to any queries that you have. We don't believe in rows of people in call centres reading from scripts, and will always give you a straight, sensible and honest answer to any of your queries.
Delivery Pricing and Discounts
We are very up-front about the delivery cost, calculating it in the basket rather than leaving it until checkout-time. Delivery costs are calculated on weight, and capped at a maximum £4.99*. We also have an excellent
discount structure that offsets the delivery costs when you order more stuff.

We endeavour to charge delivery at exactly the price that we pay for it. If for any reason we make a mistake with this, then please let us know.
We offer a sliding discount scale based on the value of your order, which we feel is more sensible than offering "free" delivery at a fixed order value (which is actually buried in the cost of the goods!).

Stock Levels
Most online retailers carry a minimal amount of stock, and order what they need on-demand from their suppliers. This process is known as "back-ordering", and is advantageous because it means that retailers don't have lots of stuff sitting on their shelves, going out of date.
However, not all retailers are open about this. We have found that many will claim that an item is "in stock" when they really mean that "the supplier probably has it in stock". This is very bad.
At Healthy Supplies, we are open about the fact that we back-order many items, and keep our stock levels low in order to prevent things from going out of date. This does mean that if you order something from us, then there is a possibility that we will have to order it on demand from our suppliers, and it can sometimes therefore take around 3 or 4 days for us to despatch it to you. If you do need something urgently, then do please contact us and ask whether we have stock to hand that we can reserve for your order.
This being said, we do actually hold almost all items in stock, so there is usually not much of a problem.
Split orders
In some cases, some items are available for immediate despatch whereas others will take a few days for us to order back into stock. If there is likely to be a long wait (more than about 3 days), we will contact you and ask you whether you would like us to "split the order". This means despatching the immediately available stuff immediately.
We will not split the order without your permission. We will not charge you extra if we have to split the order.
