Most cornflakes are made using a process that removes the kernel (which contains most of the nutrients), and they usually have lots of added sugar. However, Lima Organic Cornflakes are made using a much simpler process, as described below:
How these cornflakes are made
Organic corn is selected, washed and cooked with a pinch of sea salt.
The cooked corn is left to rest a while so that the water content can spread evenly.
The grains of corn are then preheated and passed through two rollers, which makes them into flakes.
The flakes are gently grilled.
Small or burnt particles are removed.
The cornflakes are packed and pass through a metal detector.
